Concert of Traditional Newari and Classical Music

Kathmandu University’s Department of Music, School of Ethnomusicology, organized on 22 March 2015 a concert of traditional Newari and classical music at the residence of German Ambassador to Nepal Matthias Meyer.

The School of Ethnomusicology is known for its uniqueness in South Asia and is running one of the rarest academic programmes in the field of studying music in human culture. Led by a German Professor Dr. Gert-Matthias Wegner, the school has 160 students, majority of them international. The school was inaugurated in 1996, by German President Roman Herzog, during his state visit to Nepal.
