Nepal Airline’s new Airbus A 320-200 welcomed in Kathmandu

Ambassador Meyer along with members of his team of the German Embassy in Kathmandu seized the opportunity on Sunday, 8 February 2015, to welcome Nepal Airline’s new aircraft, an airbus A 320-200 in Kathmandu.

The flag carrier’s new aircraft, which departed from the German city of Hamburg the previous day, received a water canon salute upon its arrival and was greeted by a cheerful crowd comprising Nepalese government officials, members of the diplomatic community as well as airport and airline staff.

The Airbus A320-200, named after the world’s highest mountain ‘Sagarmatha’ (Nepalese name of Mt. Everest), was the latest addition to the fleet of Nepal Airline Cooperation and is one of two planes which were ordered from the European based Airbus Group.
