German-Nepal Development Cooperation

Nepal is an important partner country of German Development Cooperation. For more than half a century, Germany has been contributing to the improvement of the livelihood of the Nepalese people and has been supporting the political, economic, environmental and social development of the country.

Priority areas of German-Nepal Development Cooperation

In accordance with the development strategy of the Government of Nepal, German Development Cooperation aims at contributing to the reduction of poverty focusing on three priority sectors.

Small-scale projects

In addition to the above mentioned support to Nepal, the German Embassy in Kathmandu financially supports small-scale projects at grassroots level, for which there are no funds available from Nepalese authorities or other donors.
